Production Process
Our soft dried apricot process begins with premium-grade sulphured dried apricots. The fruit is rehydrated under controlled conditions to raise moisture content to approximately 30–35 %, creating the signature tender bite. A gentle thermal treatment ensures microbiological safety, while modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) extends shelf life to 12–15 months without the need for additional preservatives. The final product retains a vibrant orange colour and a sweet, aromatic flavour.

RTE soft dried apricots have a higher moisture content (30–35 % vs. 18–24 % for standard dried apricots), giving them a tender, chewy texture that requires no soaking or preparation. They are ready to eat directly from the package as a snack or ingredient.
Our RTE soft dried apricots are packed under modified atmosphere (MAP) to extend shelf life without added preservatives. Sulphur dioxide is used during initial drying to preserve colour, as with standard sulphured dried apricots. Preservative-free (unsulphured) soft apricot options are also available.
When packed under modified atmosphere and stored below 18 °C, our RTE soft dried apricots have a shelf life of 12 to 15 months from the date of production. Specific shelf-life targets can be agreed during product development.
